She has to go through a laborious process in order to fight for an equity raise which is just wrong on so many levels. 2.1k Reply Share •.. Font - butwhol · 6 hr. ago It was in my linkedin feed. It was Netflix who did that. And i heard they do that as its more expensive to hire and train new guy if the unhappy employee leaves. They pay like $450k for senior engineers 560 3 Reply Share •.. guit_galoot · 4 hr. ago Had someone I worked with who was really good at her job leave for Netflix. Font - Blissanxiouslearning · 6 hr. ago Everyone should get yearly at or above inflation for that year pay rises. Not getting this amounts to a yearly pay cut for current employees. 97 3 Reply Share •.. punkrox · 2 hr. ago Too many places tie raises to performance reviews and then nitpick the performance to justify a small raise. I'm doing the job, this is what the job costs, if I wasn't getting the job done I would be fired, so pay me the going rate for the job or someone else will! Performance

Font - SnooChickens2093 · 6 hr. ago The company I used to work for was infamous amongst its employees for absolute shit raises. They'd do annual "COLA" increases of 2%...3% if you got a great review, and that's it. Generally lower than inflation, and almost always far below market wages. We had new guys starting making more than guys who'd been there for over 10 years more than once. It was just embarrassing. 199 Reply Share •.. Font - TheLegendryNoob · 3 hr. ago This happened to me as well. I recently had gotten a raise from 70k to 77k after a year with the company. I was ecstatic about it, 10%! 2 months later I was notified I was now making 92k because the juniors getting hired negotiated 88k. Thanks juniors! Vote Reply Share •..

Font - Karfedix_of_Pain · 3 hr. ago Wage matching should be the norm We get a yearly compensation review where I work. I'll see three different numbers on that review. • Cost of Living Adjustment - basically just keeping up with inflation. • Market Adjustment - keeping salaries competitive. • Merit Increase - if you're doing well enough to earn an actual raise. Font - NastyKnate · 3 hr. ago I had a job once where i had been for a few years. always had good reviews and always maxed out my yearly raise. well, a few years in i had maxed out my salary. no more raises unless i got a promotion. but since i started, the new hire salary had gone up and was now starting at what i was maxed out to. it was insanity that they still wouldnt give me any further raises. i left. Font - axa645 · 4 hr. ago Wage matching should be the norm, but it's not at this time. So let's actually applaud the people who are making it the norm in a work environment where the idea is beyond comprehension. Good for the employer to take care of their own without hesitation. 7 Reply Share •..

Font - Jeramus · 6 hr. ago I have received "market adjustments" at my current job which raise my salary. I am not sure if it really matches the rate at outside companies, but it is something. Reply Share ... drajgreen · 2 hr. ago It's not meant to match the rate at outside companies, it's meant to keep you in the same relative place as you were in the market before. If you didn't negotiate a compentative rate and were 10% below market average, and the market average goes up 5%, you don't get a 1
